A Day at Pinners Conference in Pomona!

I hadn't really planned for sure if I was going to go to Pinners in CA this year but my friend Helen messaged and asked me if I might be going. Another friend of ours, LaWanna, had expressed interest in going so we worked it out that we would go one day - Friday - do the general admission ticket which let us access all the booths to shop + make & takes and then a ticket to participate in the girls night out from 4-8pm and that included 1 class.

Keep reading to see the cool things I saw and did!

Fun idea by Dunn Edwards for this color chip calendar!

I sat and did a make and take with Maker Flo. I love this brand and this mini spinner was a new craft to do this year. It cost $15 but when I saw the owl design, I knew I had to make it.

The colors are so sharp and vivid!

I think it turned out super cute and I am so stoked to hang this up.

I came across this super cool product called the RockPot - cooking without a cord to heat the pot but a round stone with a piece of metal inside it. Heat it up on your stove or campfire for 30 min and you can cook a meal inside the pot once the stone is put inside. Mind blown. It was super cool, I badly want to own one, my friend Helen ended up buying one! Once you purchase a RockPot, they send you an invite to a private Facebook group with recipes.
Very cool and something I am going to keep in my thoughtosphere.

Purchase the RockPot

Seriously, so impressive. The RockPot was there, out on display, but sadly I did not take a single photo of the actual pot? I am so sorry! I wish I had done that but check out the website, it is pretty informative. Meeting the owner (or one of the owners?), Staci, she was great! Super fun to talk to and very personable.

I was super excited to find this P.O.P. Candy Co which is butter crunch candy, savory and sweet. I tried a bunch of flavors, the lady working the booth was incredibly patient. I ended up buying the c-c-c-curry. I also loved the Rumy Vanilla and the Maple Bacon. The Rosewater Cardamom was pretty good. The flavor I liked the least was Pistachio, surprisingly. I wanted to try P.O.P Mix but got too full of other samples 😂

With the girls night out, we got a little swag-bag with 2 items in it (all different) and a class. But, almost every class comes with a cost. The soap making one looked cool and was something I had not done before so Helen and I decided to split the cost of that. LaWanna did a felting class that I wish I could have done as well. Oh well! I wish the classes were a little more informative of what you were actually going to get for the price.

Stone City Farm was in charge of this class

For the soap making class, we did get to keep our pound of soap (this was mentioned in the information before signing up) and found out that we got to keep the mold. That was it. Not the spatula, whisk, bowl or any other supply. The class cost $40 but we were charged an extra $4.14 for tax which I did not expect and had to put that on my card because Helen and I paid cash for the class.

The teacher did not teach so much as she did tell us to look at the slides being projected. She or another guy did come around to the round tables where we were sitting to make sure everything was going smoothly. I think for the high cost, there should have been some actual teaching and maybe a short Q&A session.

Some super cute items I found while shopping around

The owl! This is a Norwex towel. So expensive but so darn cute.

MandaLynn Creations is great. I bought a shirt from her one time at the Pinners show in Scottsdale, AZ. She had a great setup here in Pomona, pick a design and pick a tye dye shirt ($25) or sweatshirt ($50) and she would heat press it together for you. I thought about it the whole show. I love how bright her tye dye colors show up. I wish I had taken a photo of the whole rack of shirts and sweatshirts.

A highlight of going to Pinners for me is seeing my friend Adrianna -
she owns Craft Kits 2 Go and this time her whole family was there helping her with the classes and the booth. I love being able to see them at Pinners Conference too. I plan to help her at the Pinners Conference in St. George next year. I helped her at Pinners last year in CA and it was a lot of work but really fun.
