Society of Wildflowers Conference ~ Day 2 ~ Featuring the Sawdust Festival

Day 2 of Society of Wildflowers conference was a bit more for me in the fact that I was teaching my first class today! So I did not take as many pictures during the conference for that reason I guess, because I am not finding much in my camera roll.

Lunch was served and the fruit was probably always my top favorite item to add to my plate.

I did take one class from my friend Katie where we learned how to fold lotus flowers.
That was really fun (once I got the hang of it). She's a cool gal, you should totally check out her crafts!

My class on Friday was on the mid-level of the Art Hotel. I had a few ladies show up to make some fun luggage tags and ribbon!

It's been awhile since I've taught anyone how to do a craft so I did have some nerves but I think overall it turned out very well. I worked with Artesprix to decide on a few items that the ladies could craft at the conference. Artesprix has sublimation markers and paints that transfer beautifully to blanks specific for sublimation. Draw whatever design you want, by hand or even with a Cricut machine, tape the paper down with heat resistant tape to your material (pillowcase, towel, luggage tag, garden stake and more) then, using a heat press (recommended), press your design, wait for it to cool then be prepared for the magic as you peel back to the paper to reveal the transferred design. The color does change when it is heated and someone smarter out there than I would probably know the reason why but irregardless, it's a fun way to be creative with your own style and designs.

By this time of the week, I'd not left the hotel to do anything so some of my friends and I decided to go check out the Sawdust Festival , a free ticket included with the conference (normally $12). We took a very scenic drive to get there but finally arrived, found a close parking spot (cost $20 but we split it 4 ways) and off we went to explore, but not before taking a photo on this fun bench.

L-R: Kaylynn, Lura, Marie, LaWanna and myself.
Lura, LaWanna and I shared a room together and Kaylynn ended up staying with Marie.

I saw this rusty car right away when I walked through the entrance. I don't know it's story but I guess it's just a staple of this creative, crafty space.

There were so many booths of talented artists sharing their skills and I took photos of all my favorites so, enjoy!

These people stayed in the booth quite awhile so it was hard to get a good photo but there were so many awesome mushrooms everywhere! It was very pretty and made for a good photo (If I could have gotten these people out of the way)

Funny to see the Thomas Guide again because it has been years!
It's a map and I used it a lot, especially in the beginning of my LDS mission to Portland, Oregon.  Every set up missionaries (companionship) had a Thomas Guide!

Dinner I shared with my friend LaWanna

It felt so amazing to relax and let loose for a few hours with friends

Glass art that I absolutely loved and the smaller pieces were not unreasonably priced

I took this photo because I love loved the California poppies there hanging on the left

I took this photo because of the ocean picture, I believe it was raised/textured in places and was so interesting to look at

Pretty pretty jewelry, even better in real life but hopefully you can see the gist of it.
Both of these photos are from 2 different booths.

We ended our evening in an alley but it was a pretty alley, after a lot of walking around to find it since the GPS wasn't completely accurate. The line is very long but went fairly fast.

The line led us to this awesome gelato shop.
Thank you to Cassandra for the tip!

Fun car we found on our way back to the hotel.
